Michael has been working at the Casino Star Movie Theater for a few months now.  He loves it!  It fits in perfectly with his love for movies, and his home theater addiction.  The theater turned 100 this month and for the big birthday bash Michael performed in a barbershop quartet. It was really fun to watch him perform, and to listen to the history of our beautiful theater.

Good Morning, Sunshine!

This is the same kid that had NO hair at all for the first year of life.  Now it is uncontrolable!  We love Caitlin's morning hair!

Jaussi's meet the baby

The Jaussi fam came down to visit this weekend to meet the new baby.  We always LOVE having Jon and his clan visit!  We had a good simple dinner, played games, met the new baby and their new puppy, and had an all around great family day.

This is "Precious Peanut".  The new addition to the Jaussi family. Carlie hardly ever puts her down and is as attentive as a new mother.

Bella and Caitlin are the best of friends.  Caitlin copied everything Bella did all day.  She idolizes her!

Jon and Carrie held the baby the whole time.  See who we have here?  Peter James...and Jon!

Babies

Caitlin loves baby Peter.  We have to keep a close eye on her or she will pick him up or poke his eyes, etc.  But when properly supervised her love is a wonderful thing.  Beautiful babies!

Cute Kids

With the addition of thing #4 to the mix of the family, I wanted to take a moment to show you just how cute the other three things are!  (I also have been having a lot of fun with my new camera!)
Andrew goes to town on Nachos.  The boy loves food like Daddy.

That smile is worth a million dollars if you can find it under that wild hair!

Andrew the stud muffin.

Pot lids make the best drum sets.  Especially the aluminum ones that have great tone.

Josh is growing up so fast!  He is ten now, and proud of it.

Joe

This is my studly older brother, Joe.  He came down to our house for the Christmas break to visit, and to frame our basement for us.  What a stud!  He came Christmas Eve, partied with the family for his birthday (which is on Christmas day) endured our adventure of a Christmas Day, and put together all of Caitlin's toys.
After Christmas he shopped for lumber and supplies, spent three days framing our basement, and experienced the entire labor, delivery, and bringing home baby process with us.  I think he may think twice before he commits to a week at the Barlow's again!  I think he had a good time though, and we sure loved having him.  Thanks Joe for all your help and love.

Caitlin was good at getting Uncle Joe to do all kinds of things.  He is such a softy.  Here he is coloring her princess book for her.

Joe and Mike in the basement after finishing the stage area.  there is still so much sawdust in the air the flash wouldn't work!  Shout out to Daniel, thanks for all your help as well. Dan worked along side Joe for two days while Mike was managing everything at the hospital and getting me and Baby home.

Can't wait for this to be a theater!

Snow!

How is this for a great birthday party idea?  Our good friends, the Sorensens, had a birthday party for their oldest son Mitchell the same day Peter was born.  All our kids went which was nice for Mike and I at the hospital!  Holly bought bean bag filler and used her vacuum to create a virtual snow globe and let the kids go wild for a couple hours.  What fun for them, and what creativity!  I don't envy Holly the clean-up though!

Christmas 2012

Christmas at our house rocks!  Everyone got just what they wanted and the fun lasted the whole day through.  Joshua had a very Lego Christmas with ninjago sets and the master Lego book.  Andrew got a hot wheels wall track and Lego's as well as the Dumb Bunnies books he asked for.  Caitlin was all set with her new doll house and play kitchen.  Mike spent the day packing his new golf bag, and I have had a great time with my beautiful fuzzy slippers and new camera!  I think even Joe was happy with what Santa brought for him -- a nook tablet and all the accessories.

Josh hunkered down with the Lego book for a couple hours after the unwrapping was finished.

Even Jeri was not forgotten by Santa.  She killed this stuffed animal within minutes.

Caitlin with her new kitchen.  She cooked for us all morning!

Andrew ran upstairs and worked on building his Lego set for a few hours.  What a happy boy!

Christmas Eve was also really fun.  The entire Jaussi clan showed up in the morning and we had a fabulous birthday party for Joe.  We had Hawaiian haystacks for lunch and then brought out the Christmas Eve smorgasbord.  We ate ourselves silly!  Then we all exchanged gifts and Dad (grandpa Clair) read The Best Christmas Pageant Ever to all of us.  It was a Christmas to remember./

Peter and the Many who Love Him

It is really amazing just how much love can accompany the arrival of a new baby.  Here is a quick look at some of the people who have been able to start building a relationship with little Peter.

Mom claims the first picture and first intimate moment.

Dad was smitten when Peter started sucking his thumb just minutes after birth.

Josh meets his little brother.

He's already got a way with him.

Caitlin didn't really understand what was happening until she met the baby.  Now she is all motherly to him.

Peter reminds me a lot of Andrew.  They both have a mellow spirit.

Barlow's saying hello.

Dan the softy.  Peter seems to really like him.

Holly couldn't get enough of the new baby.  She is such a dear friend and has listened to every gripe of pregnancy along the way.  I bet she feels like he is partly hers because she went through the whole process with me.

Time to go home!

Ma (my mom) was able to come and help for a few days and she loved the time with baby.  She is retired now which frees her up to visit more often.  Hooray!!

Caitlin is so excited to have a baby in the house.

Andrew loves his little brother.

I love my new little guy.  It's almost a guilty pleasure to be a new mom and have all the attention and love of a little one.  It goes by so fast, and we all intend to enjoy it.

He is Here!!!

Welcome to the world, Peter James Barlow!  Born December 27th 2012 at 1:54 AM in the Gunnison Valley Hospital.  7 lbs 7 oz  19 and 1/2 inches.   Practically perfect in every way!
