Our aquarium

Mike and I share a hobby. We love to keep a planted aquarium. We have this one in our bedroom and love how beautiful and serene it is.  The plants are all finally established and now it's just a matter of trimming and pruning.

A weekend "up north"

This weekend took us to the far north regions (the wasatch front). Everyone around Gunnison calls the wasatch front "up north".  It's cute and endearing and we have adopted the phrase.  

Saturday Josh was at UVU for a stem activity. The rest of us visited the springville art museum and an awesome pet store.  

After picking Josh up we went to Layton and hooked up with our friends the Scanlons. After a nice dinner at chick-fil-a we went to Andreas show.  She is Lucy in "your a good man Charlie Brown".  She did such a wonderful job!

We spent that night at the Scanlons and then Sunday we went to Provo for Dad and Jan's mission homecoming. It was the first we had seen them since coming home and it was so wonderful to catch up and spend time surrounded by lots of family.

Pinewood derby 2016

Pinewood derby was a hit this year!   Andrew won grand champion!  Our ward combines with another ward so we had 25 kids with cars in the races. It was wild!    

Mike and I were in charge of set up and car registration. Everything went very smoothly and we couldn't be more proud of Andrew. 

Andrew with his car (the hammer) and his cool trophy.  The whole family helped him build the car over the last couple weeks.  We even made a silicone mold for the back fin so we could cast it out of lead.  The other fins are plays dough.

A precious moment

Peter and Caitlin have a really close bond.  Ever since christmas this is their favorite spare time activity. They both grab their tablets and then cuddle and whisper while they play.  It warms my heart to see them love on each other.

This is Eliza, one of Joshua's best friends.  Her family is moving away and I know she will be sorely missed by our boy :(

It's official: Peter is the most beautiful 3 year old boy ever.  

Lunch with Andrew

Andrew and I are playing hooky for a bit today to enjoy some subway.  I love quality time with this great kid.  

4th grade play

Andrew performed in the 4 th grade play this week.  His class focused on the building of the railroad and Utah symbols.  Andrew was the coolest utahraptor ever!

Golf trip

Mike won two days of golf in Saint George at our Gunnison 4th of July auction. He and I went down and enjoyed two beautiful (albeit chilly) days together.  We also visited grandma Jaussi and aunt Darlene in mesquite.  It was a wonderful trip.
