How we love visitors!

We were privileged to be visited the other day by my Grandma and Grandpa Peterson. Andrew absolutely adores Great Grandpa Peterson (although he just calls him "grandpa shakes") and was thrilled to play with him and show him around the house. Drew even talked grandpa up the stairs of death. My aunt Janet and uncle Richard drove them down for the day to visit with Great Aunt Mary in Salina. I was so glad that they came by! Grandma was enchanted with the house and had all kinds of good ideas for sprucing the place up. Janet and Richard wanted to know all about the park plans and theater we have been running here in Mayfield. It is always so refreshing and uplifting to spend time with family that you don't get to see very often. What a nice visit!

You know that Momma is on a diet when ...

The chocolate cake grows hair!!

Okay, Dad is right. Caitlin is the spitting image of Joshua. How did we manage to make two of a kind? So here's a little game: look at the picture and guess if it is Cait or Josh - not too hard since hair bows and clothing are a dead give away. But really, don' t they look alike?

Mike is 34!

I love Mike's birthdays because for three small months I get to tease him about being 4 years older than me rather than three. It's getting to be a challenge to light all the candles before the first ones melt all over the cake! I love you dear, and am so grateful for another beautiful and memorable year.

This morning when I opened my eyes I could have sworn I was woken by the sound of birds chirping. Just the thought of hearing the birds chirp in the trees filled me with such spring-time happiness that I spent the morning smiling and skipping about. It's amazing how a little thing like a phantom sound in the half awake moments of dawn can shape your whole day.

Sicko and Lovey

Poor Joshua has a nasty cold. He can barely swallow or sit up. We stayed home from church to take care of him and Caitlin (ear infections...ich.). During the morning Mike came and got me to peek into the living room. There was Andrew comforting his sick brother. Talking to him and giving him loves. I love my boys. I love that they love each other. Lovies are good medicine.

At it again

He's at it again. Renovating public parks seems to be a hobby of Michael's, and with his landscaping background he is pretty good at it. The local lions club is working on the park in Mayfield and Michael volunteered to make a master plan for them. So naturally it was in the paper! Mike has already been in the paper for the Messiah Christmas concert, the middle school recognition assembly, the camp chair cinema, and now the park plan. I thin Sanpete likes Mike!
