The elders quorum decided to have their own pine wood derby this year. Mike says about thirty of the elders signed up to participate, but in the end only nine cars showed up to the race. Mike and I really got into it. I found a manual with all kinds of tips and tricks on the internet, and together we built this car every night after the kids were in bed. We had a great time! And to top it all off, we won the derby! What did we win you ask? Well, we won a bag of Reesins chocolates. Not too flashy, but it was a healthy boost for both Michael's and my competitive natures. I guess it also proves that we are a little obsessive, but like the boyscouts say, "Do Your Best!"

I'm so glad you guys actually won, I think you would have been crushed if you'd taken second or third! lol Besides, with such a cool looking car, all the rest of the contestants were probably cowering in the corner, right? Seriously, it looks great!
this is Emily :D I didn't want to go through the hassle of signing in. Anyway, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for showing us the prize winning car!!! Brent was so excited when I told him you posted it :)
Good job!
Emily

Hey, I was just checking out your car again. I think it's cool that you won. Brayden just got his car done for his derby on Tuesday. We put pics and description on his blog. I am curious if those wheels are really legal on your car? I think it's a great idea. I won my elders quorum derby too, but I don't think it was very competitive.
I got first place!
Check out my blog.
